I have searched online and I am having a difficult time finding an accurate source of information
I am looking to lower my 2004 FXDWG in the back and would like to know what the best options are that will not create clearance issues. As an example the response I got from progressive was that I would need to make modifications to the fender if I installed the 412 11” rear shocks.
Don't know if yours is raked the same as my 2011 but even with the preload set down on the rear shocks the low speed handling is a bit off.. It feels like the front end wants to fall over at low speed.
Put your bike on a jack/lift. Unbolt the lower shock mounts and rotate them out of your way. Then with a floor jack, raise the wheel up into the fender. Clearance issue, if they exist will be self evident. Good luck.
