Long time lurker on the forum. Ran into an issue and figured I'd reach out to get some suggestions/help.
Got my '15 Wide Glide last summer. Guy I bought it off mentioned that he "thought about" relocating the side mount license plate. Turns out he tried to and stripped the hell out of the torx bolts inside the fender holding the license plate mount on. I'm trying to relocate the plate to put a solo bag on the left side.
I'm trying to figure out a way around having to remove the rear tire to get in there with a screw extractor. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'll throw some pictures up to show you all what I mean... the white arrows in the one picture will indicate the stripped screws.
Would it be easier to drop the bottom shock bolts on both sides and let the swing arm drop and then try a metric Allen drive that works with a 3/8" drive ratchet..
once you do get them out I would use a regular hex head bolt. A 1/2" wrench fits nicely up in there..

First off, however you get it off salvage the LED plate light out of that mount, it's a great light that you may have a use for at some point (I reused mine in a new plate mount). Trash the mount but spare the light!
Is that sissy bar thing or T/s in the way of getting some channel locks on them?
Take a small sharp chisel and place it on the edge of the screw head just to the right of center and tap it so it digs into the edge of the screw and turns it CCW. One you get one screw out you should be able to twist the bracket to loosen the second one. I had a drawing to help visualize this, but can't seem to find it now.

That might help get better access from the bottom but I can't quite fit a socket wrench in there. There's about 3 fingers width between the screw and the rear tire unfortunately.

Haha, I know brother. That's just kinda my nature.
And I could get channel locks in there if I came in from the front of the bike but I'm not sure those screws have the sides built up enough to get the channel locks to bite. I'll definitely give it a go though. Thanks man

So the way I'm visualizing what you're saying is to chisel into the wall of the inside of the screw and position it so when I tap the chisel it causes the screw to turn. I'd then reset the chisel when it loses position and rinse/repeat. Am I tracking what you're saying correctly?

I feel your pain. The WG is a totally unique Dyna and parts are very hard to find that fit stock. The license plate is mounted similar but further forward than the Street Bob making fitting bags a pain. But if you're just in to solo bags, check these out as they fit without moving anything: https://larosadesign.us/96-up-harley...th-wide-strap/
use a Dremel cutoff wheel and make a slot for a flathead screwdriver and unscrew it
If you don't have a Dremel then use a chisel or something chisel like and hit the other end with a hammer and unscrew it that way.
