Just picked up a 2001 FXDP that the previous owner told me was a Canadian Royal Mountie bike. It has 55,xxx kilometers on it (the speedo is in kph). A lot of the good DP stuff is still there, but gone are the original windshield, exhaust, siren, amp, red and blues as well as the flasher, pole light, rear light bar/license plate mount, and all of the associated wiring.
I'm very excited to have been able to find one and it's in great condition. Just needs fork seals, a front tire, rear brake pads, and the carb tuned to get rid of a nasty decel pop.
I'll likely be putting a 2 up seat and passenger pegs to be able to share the fun with lady friends and change the exhaust out for either a stock set or a 2 into 1. Otherwise I plan to keep it as original as I can and just enjoy it.
