Kind of a pointelss post I reckon, but I'm excited. I finaly mod'd my bike. I had the dealer do the intake and exhaust when I bought it so they stole that glory from me. But my 3 bar LED taillight and side mount license plate bracket came in today. So since it's overcast and drizzly I put them on. Heres a picture, there's another in my gallery with the lights on.
The next step is LED blinkers (to continue the blacked out theme), a solo seat, and loose the passenger pegs.
I do have a question though. My bike is a 08, does anybody know what wire (and where to find it) I need to use to splice into for the license plate light? I need a hot-on/run and a ground. Thanks
Light looks really nice back there, probably why I did the same thing to mine.
Only difference is I left the plate in back and added an 1/8" thick piece of aluminum asbacking for the plate.
I looked at it and figured the added plate would help protect the light from that big a$$ed tire chucking rocks at it. I'm just a tad parinoid about silly stuff like that I guess.
Underneath the seat you find the 8 pin connector for main harness to rear taillight harness. On my 07 the run light is blue ground is black. Not sure on 08 but probably same. Get a test light and see. Nice job on your mods, looks good.
Looks good, I'll eventually put one on my bike. Right now I'm in the middle of adding a new paint set and adding an inverted chrome front end.........needless to say my budget is pretty much kaput for a few weeks, but that will be in my next go round of projects.
Makes you feel good to do your own work doesn't it? [sm=icon_cheers.gif]
Both were very easy to do. Had both installed within 1.5hrs of actuall work. And that was taking it real slow, I was trying to kill the rest of the afternoon but got done too soon. Only problem I had with these are the price, neither kit is cheap, but seem pretty well made.
