I have relocated my license plate in preparation for a quick-detach tour-pak setup (and I hate the stock plate location). I intend to use LED plate bolts to light the plate. I did this on my 2012 by tapping into the fender tip light. The 2016 has the same two wires, but they now serve TWO functions, tail-light and brake light. I do not want my license plate light flashing every time I hit the brakes. I assume that if I tap into the blue wire inside the taillight I will have the same effect. Does anyone know? Has anyone found a better way to wire in their plate light?
I can't look, but I believe I used a purple with black stripe. There are six wires going in. I am willing to bet you can get a connector for the directional light bar that doesn't exist, and plug your lights into the taillight mount.

If you don't mind answering. Where did you get your license plate relocate mount? Which one is it? I have been wanting to do the same. Flat or curved. Did you have to drill?

Simple to do and the lighted plate bolts will not effect anything with your canbus. I just tapped in to the hot wire in the tail light took 10 minutes to do the job.
