Default ABS buzz sound?

Ever since I got my 17 Wide Glide last summer, when braking there is an audible buzz sound, about as loud as a beard trimmer. I've just chalked it up to the speed sensor doing its thing.

But yesterday, I rode all over town: to work, to meet my girl for lunch, to the dealer, and took a scenic route home. I realized that the noise has stopped now. There is no more buzz when touching either brakes. I did ride aggressively and had to brake hard at a couple yellow lights but otherwise it was normal bobbing.

Which scenario is normal? Buzz or no buzz? Anything to check? Is this the ABS or something else? Thanks in advance.

Seriously? Nobody has ABS on a Dyna?

Some times when new brake pads or in your case a new bike with new pads will make buzzing sound when brakes are applied. This is the sharp edge on new pads wearing against the rotor vents and the noise will slowly diminish as the brakes are being "broke in". When I replace pads I usually file the edge "leading to the Rotor" down to a bevel and no noise. Hope this helps.

Huh, maybe. I got the bike used and I'm pretty sure they didn't put new pads on at only 3500 miles. It definitely sounded like an electronic buzz. I'll keep an eye on it I guess.

Do you know what brand of pads are on it? I run EBC pads and they have a distinct "buzz" noise for the first couple hundred miles or so after installing them.

That, and I've found that some floating rotors make a buzzing sound when relatively new. Both my Street Bob and Super Glide did that until they had 10,000 miles or so.

Huh, weird. Thanks, guys! Makes sense what you're saying. It sounded so "electronic" and consistent I was sure it was the ABS module or speed sensor. My 48 never did it though and it doesn't have ABS.
