Hi everyone, I just bought my first HD last night - a 2008 FXDL Low Rider with less than 5000 miles!
I was hoping I could get some help with mounting the indicator/idiot lights as the previous owner used a very...primitive technique using cable ties. I'd like to keep the risers on here so don't have the stock clamp anyways, but is there an easy solution to mount these lights?
I've combed through old threads and some just removed it (I don't want to do that) or custom mounted it between the two gauges on the tank (I also don't want to do that and I will **** it up for sure). I can't seem to just find an easy mounting bracket for this and I don't have the skills to make my own. Any easy options? view from the front (zip tied indicator "mount") view from the seat
This is what I need, but the my risers are 4.25" inch mounting holes for all four and these only match for the top, but the bottom mounting holes are 2.75"
I have been looking for the same info. I would like to get rid of the pull-back risers on my fxdl and get different bars but that indicator is an issue.
The risers look like biltwell murdocks, I have them also. The bolts on the top clamp are evenly spaced, unlike the stock riser clamp on the stock risers with the built in indicator holder. Been looking for an alternative for several years, fairly well hidden by a bandana I have tied on the bottom of the risers. Not many clear alternatives out there for something so simple. Plenty of DIY mods that I have seen but cannot do. I sympathize.
my new search is for a different dyna dash that will eliminate the tach, relocate the key from the neck and the indicators also. Super glide, wide glide dash have what I’m looking for. Good luck!
First off, congrats on your first HD, how exciting
I see some negativity on the DIY the PO did on your bike lights but I always like to encourage fellow members with positivity on their bikes and mods so I say, that just looks great!
