Fuel Management systems
What is the differents between all the EFI management systems?
Either than preference. I see that some are easy to install. But some they want you to cut into the wire loom and I'm not too hot on chopping up a 06 Bob for no one even to save a buck. So does anyone management system give you better proformance than another? What about tuning is there one that is better and easier to tune? And if so which one is it?
That said...I really like my PCIII. Installation was not overly complicated. No wire harness cutting. Plug the two connectors together and stuff the module in. It WILL go in like they say. Just be patient. Find a good dyno-tuner and have him make you a custom map ON THE DYNO. Mine was $200 and well worth it. Plenty of tuners will tell you they can do it by feel. I don't buy it. I went to powercommander.com and got a list of PCIII certified shops for my area and then asked here for recommendations from that list. If you're in the Dallas area, Jim Sabin at SabinPerformance.com. If you don't want to go the dyno route, you can download a standard map that matches closest to your configuration. I did that at first and was astounded at the performance difference after getting a custom map. If you buy the PCIII from FuelMoto, they will ship it to you with a map for the configuration you give them.
There are other systems that claim to dynamically manage the EFI with no programming needed. I love the concept, but have no experience with them. I'm sure someone here with one will chime in.
Good luck!
