Ringing in my ears...
The last couple of rides I have noticed a new noise. It isn't apparent when the engine is cold. The first time I noticed it near the end of my ride and the last time I had taken a short trip, shut the engine off for a few minutes and then made a short trip home, and noticed it then. It's difficult to describe, and easy to loose int he other sounds of the engine. I guess I can best describe it as the ringing noise a large washer would make on a loose bolt when subjected to intense vibration. It is most noticeable off idle up to say 2500 RPM and appears to come from the area of the compensator, although it's difficult to tell as I need to listen and open the throttle at the same time.
Any ideas where to look first?

I should have mentioned, I had the clutch cover off earlier this year and the chain tension was good. Not a whine, more of a ringing. Sort of like a muffled bicycle bell being rung constantly.

Check and see if the exhaust shields are tight. I had a wierd noise like that on my '11. Thought it was coming from the compensator it ended up being a loose exhaust heat shield.
