No - they're still a great thing to have. I'll use it on long trips for sure, and it is much more relaxing. But I had such fun just having the change, and the bike looks way better without it.
Overall, I would still want one. HDs quick removal system is pretty neat actually - took me about 10 seconds to remove.
I did 250 miles today and had the touring windslield on. I did the reverse route a few weeks back with out and I got so say without it them freakin bugs hurt. Took a few today to with the shield but not near as bad. The buffeting is something that makes it unpleasant on a long run but the bugs are even worse.
.... about my windshield. Like to do some longer distance highway riding so I've had it on the bike pretty much since the beginning.
Took it off this weekend for a change!! Yazzza. Lovin it. Bike looks way better and just seems more fun to ride.
Plus I was pretty ticked about the buffeting issues with the windshield.
I did the same this weekend, looked like the rain might be over for a day or to... I also really liked the looks. but unlike you, my 20mile ride to work on the freeway, wore be out with road grit, sand, water, and bugs... I got to work dirty and just wore out.............
Anything under 45mph was fun,, 75mph just plain hurt...........

Speaking of that I came across a section of highway today that they were doing crack filling on.... that aint fun stuff to ride in... had an Ahole pass me in a dually and the sh*tas* has the gall to punch his chip out diesel dually just as he's coming round me... glad I had the windshiel on for that one... I could hear the grit pingging off the metal on my bike.
