WIll also send an application for the loan to get some numbers back and see how it all ends up financially.

A question:
I think the bike has only had 1 oil change. This was done at the 1000 miles service.
The dealer are doing a oil change and check this week, since the bike is attempted to be sold.

1 oil change since 2015 has me a bit worried. Even if it runs fine now, I might get trouble in a year or two.
I am going to follow up the email and have it verified that it has only been 1 oil change since 2015. The answer wasn't crystal clear.

What are you thoughts?
If you buy it, start it up and go for a ride like for 20-30 minutes. Then the oil is warm and mixed with the dirt you want to get rid of. Empty all oils: engine, transmission and primary. Replace the oil filter and fill the oils. The dealer knows what oils to use. You may also want to replace the brake fluids, as this should be done twice a year. It is all in the manual. And off course fill the tires. Otherwise I think you should be able just to go on riding the bike. Good luck!

Do you have a source for that recommendation?

Yes sir, the manual for my Dyna 2006 recommends replacing the brake fluid every second year. I just did this. It was 4 years ago I replaced it the last time and it was really dirty.

Sorry I wrote "twice a year". I mean every second year. Thanks for seeing my fault.

Ah, I see. Your first quote was "twice a year", which is quite different than every other year.

An update.

First of all, thanks for all the replies and help.

I decided to not buy it.

The remaining debt on my sportster and the cost of the Dyna was just too much when I had a "What if" feeling. Even though it probably would be nothing.
I would have to get it shipped to where I live, replace the tires and get the dealer here to go over it and replace all the fluids for me since I am not skilled enough to do it myself right now. I am doing some easy things on my sportster, but I am in no way feeling OK with doing all that myself now.

However, I was out at the dealer where I live yesterday to pick up something, and they said they might have something for me.
A guy who bought a 2020 Softtail Street Bob a few months ago wanted to sell it. The deal wasn't sealed yet so they hadn't reached out to me yet, but the moment it is they are. Was pretty bummed when I decided not buy the Dyna Street Bob, so that was a pleasant surprise. Don't know what they are asking for it or anything yet, but I am excited. Hopefully I can buy it!

Will keep you posted and put up a picture if I buy it!

Don't feel bad about the Dyna. You would have had to replace the tires too. Tires over 5 years old have to go. I would not have been concerned about the oil, just change to new fluids and away you go.

I have a 2011 FXDC. They are classic Harleys and mine has been a great ride. I put legend air shocks on the rear and their cartridges in the front. You adjust the air fill from the handlebars and can set it for one or two up. The thing is so smooth it feels like you are literally gliding along. The motor is made exactly for the kind of riding you want to do. Thumping past longer distances is what they do best.

Good luck in your search!
