Default Ape Handling

Got an ape question. Just put 16"s on my fxd and the ride is great, until i hit about 70 or so miles and hour. At that point the bikes front end shakes tremendously and also around high speed turns. Is this a setup problem or just the way they handle?

With out a doubt a set up problem. How much bar movment do you have when sitting still? I just put 16's on mine last week and I put it through the paces on the way home. 60, 70 up to 80 mph. No vibration or wobble. I suspect your bushings need to be upgraded...check out this thread.....

I'm no bike mechanic, but my rider's instinct tells me that's not normal. You used the words "shakes termendously" and with that I'd have it test driven by someone with mechanical knowledge. Ride Safe - J

Did you change the stock riser bushings? If not is there alot of play in the bars back and forth?
Get some poly bushings (about $30) and should smooth things out...Hope this helps...Later
