I have a 2010 Wide glide. The brake lights were working fine yesterday but today the rear brake pedal is not activating the brake lights. The front brake activates the brake lights fine. I guess the activation switch for the rear brakes went bad but where is it? Thanks
Thank you, I'll take a look and get back to you. Thanks again..
I just replaced one of these the other day ON MY 08 FXDF. Originally I ordered one off of amazon that people claimed fit the dyna, but it definitely did not fit. I ended up going with this one: https://www.denniskirk.com/drag-spec...rd/2101942.sku
Some people online say you can compress the brakes and not have to bleed them as a result. This definitely did not work for me. Brakes were spongy after I swapped the switch, so I bled them and now it works great.
Picked up the $11 pressure switch at the Harley dealer yesterday. Swapped it out just a few minutes ago and the rear brake lights work fine now. Thank you for your help Vonswanko.
The trick is to carefully depress the pedal right before you put the new switch in, just enough so the fluid forms a meniscus at the top of the fitting. That way, when you introduce the new switch, there's no air trapped in the fitting. Depressing the pedal also blocks the fluid from returning to the reservoir, allowing air in.
