Riding = Risks...Period. Yes, wearing jeans aren't the heaven-sent answer of preventing pain...same exact thing can be said for the vanity helmet & the "t-shirt only" guysso I think alot of us on here each have our own "faults." That's why all this stuff is called "protection" & nothing more. I defintely will start wearing jeans more often when riding (those pipe-hickies are no fun either), but you know what this thread has taught me most of all?...if you go down your gonna get hurt regardless & there's no gear that's gonna guarentee otherwise...I'm gonna ride comfortable & wear whatever the heck I want! ;-D
I wear jeans but not because of protection. Last time I went down they didn't save me any skin, just ruined a new pair of Levis. I do wear shorts for quick blasts to town but not very often. I say wear what you want, all that matters is you are putting miles on.
i will stick to my jeans. i have seen a rider get a bee up the shorts leg when riding. if that does not wreck you then you can pat yourself on the back for being a good rider. i will take the extra protection for the first few feet then have nothing on my legs at all ..
