I am looking at some exhaust either V&H BSS or Samson Big Guns 3. Which one would give me that old Harley Davidson sound with my 07 Low Rider? I already plan on adding the PCIII and a Big Sucker. Any other input you guys might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
V&H BSS's are the heat...no doubt...but I can't tell you how many folks have complimented me on the Big Radius...and to be honest, I can't hear the difference between the two...but you can sure as hell see it.
Good luck, you'll the love the big suck and pcIII.
JR,
I just puta set of Big Guns III on my 06 Low Rider. The look and sound is phenomonal. But that's just my $.02. Just be careful when removing the front O2 sensor for reuse. Mine was stripped in two places when it was installed at the factory. Be sure to use some penetrating oil before attempting removal. That'll give you a little bit of an edge.
If you really want the authentic old style Harley sound, then you need the Cycle Shack slip-ons... very original. These are the same core design as the old style SE mufflers. All steel core, authentic Harley sound.
You won't be able to replicate the old Harley sound because you're running an EFI Twin Cam. Any decent pipe/muffler will give you volume and note, however, it's the way the engine used to idle and gallop that gave the old Harleys their distinct sound.

That's what I have on my 2001 Super Glide and get a lot of good compliments how good it sounds.
Yes some say it's too loud, butthey may just have delicate ears.
i been thinkin of gettin rid of my BG3s and i like the look of some of the cycle shack slip ons.. running a pc111 would it be better to keep the 02 eliminators in or pull the sensors out of the stocks and plug em like i did the big guns? im wondering if that would cause conflict with the A/F ratio that the ecu and pc3 picks up. i like the big guns sound n look for awhile but im wanting a change for something alil more low key looking. exhaust is kinda like shoes to me, every couple years a change is good....
