Hello everyone I’ve been searching everywhere and haven’t really came across a good solution yet.
I have a 06 dyna streetbob and I just took off my 18” apes that came with the bike and threw these on they’re 8” tall and my problem is my cable lengths are to long. Can anyone guide me in the direction of what cable length I need ? Can I buy stock cables or do I need to know a certain length? I’m lost
Harley "Mini Apes" have a 10 " rise, not 18". They are aftermarket handlebars and braided cables. Using OEM length cables will be 2" too long, so look for 2" shorter than OEM cables.
You could also use some stiff wire and form it to make the bends and routing you need, from one end to the other. Then just measure the wire. Repeat for the other cables.
Use your current cables and disconnect the end at the bars. Route them however you like, being sure to account for being able to move the bars side to side. Then mark with a piece of tape where it meets the controls, and measure that length. That's your new cables. Keep in mind some suppliers don't include the ends of the cables in their measurements, but worst case you'd end up a with a cable that is a little too long, which is way better than being a little too short.

these were the bars that came with it when I bought it
