...do I keep my own darn boots off my pipes? I'm a newb--with an '07 FXDB--and it seems there's some rubber to be cleaned off after every ride! Should I expect a little shoe residue? Am I doing something wrong?Perhaps I need wider pegs...or better boots (or shorter feet)?
Anyway, it's getting a bit old cleaning 'em after each trip out!!!
I think we all did that in the beginning. Just got to train your foot to stay away from the pipe. Use good leather boots..mine don't melt. Old work boots did and the best way to get the goo off is with easy-off oven cleaner. Spray it on while it's hot and let it sit a few minutes and wipe it off.
