I never rode a motorcycle before and impulse bought a Honda F4i in 2006. The salesman showed me how to operate it in the back lot and I rode it home. Rode it hard for a year, got my motorcycle endorsement with it, then after a long day trip I decided I wanted a recumbent cruiser style bike for long trips.
Wanted a new or newish bike and started looking at Softails. Found those were priced more than I wanted to pay and then considered Dyna. Found a mint 2007 Super Glide bare bones model with 1,800 miles from private seller. Bought it. Put Stage 1 kit, highway pegs, Mustang vintage solo seat and street bob bars on it and rode it like that for about 10 years.
Then the plandemic hit and I caught the mod bug a little. Installed 16 apes, Magnum Shielding cables, Custom Dynamics Pro Beam LEDs all around, Cams, Legend Revo-A and Axeo suspension, LePera seat and SE 103 big bore kit. Plus more chrome stuff. Seems like a different bike now.

My first big twin was a 2002 Super Glide. It was a great bike but for some reason I thought I should get a bagger so I traded it for an Electra Glide. Rode the EG for years then traded it for a Road King. Loved the Road King but I got the itch for another Dyna so I sold the RK and bought a 2007 Street Bob. I liked the Street Bob a lot, it was a hot rod and set up just how I liked it but my Missus wasn't happy with it because it wasn't very comfy. So I started trying to turn it into a Road King to accommodate her. Comfy seat, bags, footboards, shocks. The money started adding up so I decided I may as well just buy another bagger so a Road King Classic replaced the Street Bob.
The RKC was a wonderful bike and I rode the **** out of it for years, but all the while I kept seeing all of the cool Dynas on here and my mind started wondering back to a Dyna.
So I sold the RKC and bought a 2005 Super Glide. It was a barn find and was in pretty rough shape so I went to work getting her road worthy. I didn't have to spend a ton of money getting her on the road but it did take quite a bit of time and elbow grease, but after a full summer of tinkering, cleaning, and turning wrenches it was looking and running good.
Well, all the while I was wrenching on the 05, I had my eye on a 1995 FXDS that was for sale on Craigslist. The owner had it listed at what I thought was a high asking price so I made an offer and he refused.
I kept tinkering on the 05 and watching the 95 on Craigslist. After several months went by I reached out again and pitched the owner of the 95 my offer again. At first he refused but after a day or so he though it through and agreed to sell me the Evo.
That brings me to today, I am the proud owner of a mostly original, very good condition, 14000 mile 1995 FXDS Dyna Convertible. The thing is, I'm not real sure what it is exactly. I've seen it listed as a Dyna Low Rider Convertible but other times I've seen it called a Dyna Super Glide Convertible. I'm not sure why anyone would consider it a Low Rider because its probably the tallest Harley I ever sat on. Seat height is up there.

over the winter I took it down to the engine on frame and I have been slowly adding chrome and changing things around to the way I want it.
Still a couple of weeks from finishing but all downhill now ..had a lot of fun working on mine this winter.

Your story sounds a lot like mine. Got any pics?
