HD4evr... that '08 looks familiar ... mine is a bit ways from stock now.

Going through my drivetrain... she's all apart now, but new sprockets, chain, pulleys & belt going back in.

I have a 2013 Super Glide Custom that I found on FaceBook, of all places, but got it for UNDER KBB, with a box of extra parts. Seller told me he picked it up from a kid who got it at the local dealer, Barnett's, and dumped it on his way home, then put it in his brother's garage, and never rode it again. The seller had been replacing the parts that had scrapes on them, and had also already roughly fixed the dent in the tank, and primed it. By the time I saw it, the bike still only had 1879 miles on it. I couldn't believe the steal I got on it! It's been a great bike, and I LOVE the way it handles. Before I got this, I had a Honda, which I liked, because it handled well, but it was starting to have issues, and my wife was the one who wanted me to get another bike, when I found this deal. She originally wanted me to get a big bagger, with fairing, trunk, saddlebags, the works, but since I ride to work every day, I didn't want a monstrosity to have to handle all the time. She was disappointed when I came home with this baby, but I told her that I'd make it comfortable for her to ride with me. I got a Sundowner seat, which she liked, and floorboards for her feet, and a backrest, but she still wasn't satisfied, so I found a set of LeatherLyke saddlebags and a windshield, and she seemed to think the bike might be alright, but it still wasn't what SHE wanted. The Honda that I had before, we ended up giving to a friend who had liver cancer, and hadn't ridden in years, and he rode it, but then added a Voyager-type kit to it, so he wouldn't have to hold it up, when his cancer made him really weak. It allowed him to ride for a few more years, but then Covid hit, and his cancer was already weakening him, and he passed. About a year later, his wife decided to give us back the bike, with the kit still on it. Now, my wife's happy because she has her own "trike", like she's wanted for years, and I can have my bike the way I want. Probably going to go with a solo seat, soon, I hope, and would like to change to a bobtail rear fender. Now, though, I'm up to more than 16,000 miles on the clock. I LOVE this bike!!

Sorry you lost a friend. Glad to hear the Missus is happy with the trike.

Thanks! Since the Honda was sitting for so long, though, I'll need some help getting it running right. It will start, and run, IF I shoot some starter fluid in the intake. If I try to just use the gas in the tank to keep it running, though, it will die. I've already put Seafoam through the tank, cleaned out and changed the fuel filter, but still having issues. I suspect there's gunk in the jets in the carbs, but with dual carbs that have to be sync'ed, and since I'm NOT "mechanically inclined", I'm probably going to have to take it to a shop.

As long as you dont separate the carbs you may not need to mess with synching them. I pulled the carbs off my Vulcan and left them connected to each other. Pulled the bowls and jets, cleaned everything up and put it back together. It ran great after that.
Watch some youtube videos (Really, Not a joke). They will show you step by step how to disassemble the carb, clean it and put it back together. Its not hard, just takes some time.

On my second Super Glide Custom, great bikes. The first was a black 2012 bought new rode it for 4 years then had the opportunity to get a 2011 Street Glide CVO another great bike. My recent Super Glide is a 2013 110th Anniversary bought from a 82yr old who purchased it new. He had put on 200km (about 125miles) rode it around the block, He had tastefully added some chrome, changed the speedo. I added the passenger back rest (Harley quick disconnect). Battery was replaced before I bought it. Now has 3760km, bought from Ottawa Ontario in 2021

Got it home changed all the fluids (3 holes and brake fluid) rides just as i remember my 2012 rode...now looking at tires as they are going on 9 years old
