Default Uneven floorboards 2009 FXDC w/ Forward controls

Hi all,

I have 2009 dyna custom with what I believe to be the HD forward control + reduced reach kit. It looks like the brake side peg mounting spot is about an inch further out from the frame than the shift side and the asymmetry is driving me nuts. Is there a way to move even these out? Also is there a way to get the the floorboards closer into the bike not a big fan of how wide out they are.

Nice bike . . . with the exception of those floorboards. THAT IS DUMB. Those will hit the pavement in turns, causing a supreme butt pucker moment. Put MINI floor floorboards on it in the forward control peg mount. As for the brake pedal position adjust it to your liking. Look at the rear Master Cylinder where the brake rod is attached. 1st remove the cotter pin, then loosen the jam nut and adjust it.

Congratulations on you first post to HDF, welcome to the Forum.

Did not think Dyna's came with floor boards. May want to look and see if you can get a OEM forward control set with foot pegs.

That brake side setup looks wonky.

Hi folks,

thanks for the responses and the welcome.

I bought this bike used and I know the forwards and boards are not stock. I think the forwards are the below kits but I have no way to be sure since there are no markings.

https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...ls/p/49080-06A - Forward controls
https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...Kit/p/50700005 - reduced reach kit

SO, if I put pegs on the bike that does help the width by a little because of the way these boards mount and certainly looks a little better. However the peg mounting spots are still a little offset. some pictures below for reference. The brake side is nearly an inch further out than the shifter side peg mount.

I also found another forum where the end result looks about the same as what I am seeing but I haven't found a solution for bringing them back in.,

There's an adjustable bracket on the boards. Yep, the one with the "saw-tooth" joint. Remove it when ya put foot pegs back on. Everything should line up perfectly.

Thanks all, threw the passenger pegs upfront to test looks and feel it is much better than those boards. Might try and custom mount the boards in the future but for now will be purchasing a new set of pegs to be permanent.
