2001 Dyna LW with laced wheels - there is a slow leak in the front tire. Normally keep at 30 psi, after a few days is down to 25 psi. I have used soapy water over the tire and the valve stem and not seen anything. I know I need to replace it, but is there any danger to take it out for short rides like this until I get it changed?
Its probably the tube and rim strip replace those if the tire has good tread left.
But no, you shouldnt ride it until you get it fixed. You cant depend on it to not go soft during a ride at the most in opportune time. Like in a curve.

Maybe up and down the driveway. Why risk anything when you're going to replace it all anyway.
I've had the valve control in the valve stem go bad on a moto and bicycle and have replaced them and no problems after. It's also and easy and inexpensive thing to check.
My Bobber has laced wheels and the front tire loses about a lb a week. It's done it since new (I only have 800 miles on the bike). Since I always top off tire pressure before every ride, I don't sweat it. It is a curiosity, though.
My FXDWG has laced wheels, so tubed tire as well and no leakage.
Interestingly, my 2016 XL N is tubless on a mag wheel and is also having a slow leak issue. Going to just replace both (happen to be exact same size) and see what happens
If the tire still has good tread and no sign of cracks on the sidewalls, use some Ride On. That will stop the leak and balance the tire as well. I know this from experience.
The po of my '96 Dyna told me that the tires would lose air at a quick rate. Having ridden motorbikes for 54 years and knowing about this occurrence, I didn't give it much thought. The bikes with inner tubes seem to lose air quicker that bikes with mag wheels, at least in my garage. I got the bike home and aired the tires up to check how fast the air loss was. The next day, I discovered that both wheels had bled off about 5 psi! So I ordered some replacement valve stems for my mag wheels. PITA job replacing them, but on a 27 year old bike, a necessary job. Did fix the issue. Your laced wheels have inner tubes and possibly it is experiencing a slow leak. You need to remove the wheel, dismount the tire, check the inside the tire for any protruding sharp objects. Do a visual inspection; running your fingers around inside the tire can give you a nasty cut if there is anything sharp. Replace the inner tube, rim strip if it is worn and reinstall the tire without pinching the new tube. I used to have to buy two new inner tubes because I ALWAYS managed to pinch the first one. Now, I use a Baja no pinch tool when changing tires, it prevents that from happening. Three of my bikes have spokes, so it was a necessary expense for me. YMMV. Check your Schrader valve in the valve stem; make sure it hasn't come loose...could be as simple as that, you never know.
