Got back from beach about 5 pm yesturday, washed bike down as usuall on Sundays, started fine and put backin garage till tomorrow. Last nite around 9 ish was in garage for a smoke and hear a noise coming from under the gas tank sound like the fan on my computer/humming noise. What the F, call wifey and kid cause I think I'm going nuts to see if they hear it, yup all agree there is a noise coming out from under the gas tank, shake the bike and set of the alarm and noise stops. Got a doc apointment and want to take the bike so I can use the commuter lane, its dead!! No electrical what so ever, main fuse is fine. HD is coming to get it tomorrow. Any ideals what happened, service manager had no ideal what was wrong when I told him.

Did you check the battery connections? If you have taken them off recently it is likely that they are loose. Had this problem repeatedly with my WG and after cutting off the star washers on the bolts it has been fine. Worth checking out.

I also live on the beach and had to same problem...turned out it was the start relay in the fuse box...corroded teminals....I shipped it back to the dealer but he just cleaned the terminals and it runs fine now....need to get a waterproof fusebox from somehwere?

Check the battery cables, fuses ok, but inside of fuse box had water and rustin it, moisture all over the fuse box, can not quite describe sound but it did not sound like fuel pump. I'm starting to lean twords a defective alarm due to the noise stopping after it was activated. Thanx for your suggestions

sounds like the same thing that happened to me. It was a shorted ignition switch. Never woulda thought of that. I have a 06 superglide, luckily it was under warranty. good luck, I hate electrical problems.
