Dyna Resale Pricing.
How useful do you think online price guides like Kelly Blue Book (www.kbb.com) are for pricing a used Dyna?
For instance, KBB says an 05 FXDC "private party" is about $12,800. Is that a reasonable ask price?
If the bike has, say $5K worth of goodies, how much do you think that affects the value?
Same for mileage...

depends on the goodies.
An FXDC is already pretty chromed out - I don't even understand how to add 5K on top of that.
12800 for a stock 2005 fxdc seems crazy high. I almost bought one at the end of 2005 for just over 13K - brand new - 2 year warranty.

Kelly, Nada and the like are just that...guides. Market conditions, region, demand, supplyand especially new bike prices all factor in to a suggested selling price for a used bike. In the end, whatsomeone will offer to payis its real value and what it's really worth.
I find that the NADA is a bit more in line with most resale. It is about 5% lower than KBB in general.
As for accessories, you are better off taking them off and selling them seperately. If you sell the bike with the accessories on, you will lose the money on them.

So clearly the KBB is a little high with '08's starting at the same price. So what do you think is a good opening price for, say, a bone stock '05?

Looks real nice !
I agree with AZ Rider, in the end it's what someone will pay for the bike. The extras come in handy if someone would buy the same thing ie windshield, saddlebags and the like. But the buy can always say dont need these things so if its included great but I am not paying extra for it. Engine work is different, stage 1 or 2 pipes and the like should bring extra cash but never what you paid for it, if you get 50% of what you spent consider yourself lucky.
