Default EITMS Disable....

Hey, 2013 FXDBP w/103" and Can Bus. I'm trying to disable EITMS but can't figure it out and there's nothing in the FSM about it...
The issue I'm having is that when the temp gets over 250* it feels like it's dropping a cylinder till I get the rpm's up over 2200. If I'm cruising on a day where the engine temp stay's around 232* it'll never happen.. In my Power Vision I found what was labeled as EITMS Mode 3 Enable Speed and EITMS Mode 3 Enable Temp. The speed was set to 20 KPH and Temp was set to 120* Celsius.. I did up that setting to 146* Celsius or 195* f. I have not been able to test drive it yet but is this a possibility to my issue. Or do I even have EITMS? If I do, how can I disable it in the OEM ECM...Thanks..

I’m not sure what year they started the eitms but my 14 has it so I assume yours does too. But that system should never be engaged while moving. If you are dropping a cylinder while riding something else is going on.

The eitms is designed to work when engine temp is high and vehicle speed is 0 and engine at idle. As soon as you raise rpm’s by blipping throttle even a little bit it kicks that cylinder back on. Mine has engaged a couple times in traffic at bike week or similar and as soon as I start to move it immediately kicks that cylinder back on.

Yours should work the same way mine does. Turn the key to on. Roll the throttle off all the way and hold it for several seconds. Sometimes I have to do this twice to activate or deactivate it. I haven't done it in a while but I think that's the procedure.

I have tried that several times and nothing... This is why I'm questioning if I even have it....

What kind of bike are you talking about? The triglide in your signature? this procedure you are referring to only works on throttle by wire models. OPs bike would be cable throttle.

This procedure would not work on your bike, I believe the dealer has to switch that system on/off.

Ok thanks for that info . Then shouldn't I be able to toggle it (on/off) with my Power Vision tuner?

Honestly I'm not sure, I am not super familiar with what capabilities the power vision has. Hopefully someone else can chime in or you may be able to reach out to I believe it's fuel moto that does all the power vision stuff.

I agree with what someone else said. It should NEVER be kicking in while riding. It is only supposed to kick in at idle. I solved my issue by installing a set of fans and it hasn't kicked in since.

On my ’20 it will kick in when ambient temps are over 80 degrees, and only at idle, while stopped.
If I have engaged, which I don’t.
