EITMS Disable....
Mode 1, AFR enrichment, this is when the temp gets over a specific set temperature (142*Celsius and under 1200 rpm) at idle the ECM will first Attempt to cool the motor down by enriching the AFR's.. If it cannot and the temperature increases to 155* Celsius it will go into Mode 2 which is "Skip Fire" mode, cutting out the rear cylinder..
There is also a Third level of protection which is Mode 3..
Mode 3 attempts to change Spark and Idle speed to protect a hot engine at low speeds. There are 2 parameters that need to be met for Mode 3. One is MPH and the other is Engine temp.. You can select at what speed and temp you want Mode 3 to be active with a Power Vision tuner.. Mode 3 parameters can be changed to either use EITMS to protect your motor to disable it..
What I found was that the parameter settings for Mode 3 in my tune were set at for Temperature, was 120* Celsius or 248*F and for speed was 20 KPH or 12 mph. So I changed the temperature setting to 146* Celsius or 295*F but did not change the Speed setting.. When I had the bike out today what I did notice with the way it ran was that the only time the motor ran rough was sitting at idle.. As soon as I brought the rpm up a little with the throttle it smoothed out very nicely.. The parameter for Mode 3 temp was never satisfied therefor Mode 2 Skip Fire mode did it's job sitting at idle.. So I'm getting close to resolving the whole problem.. I will also set the speed parameter to 0 this way I won't get a rough running condition up to 2200 rpm.
I'm not so worried about even using the EITMS function.. Any Modified engine with higher compression is definitely going to increase Cylinder and Head temperatures... To me 300*F is not an issue.. My built Stroker Evo will get cylinder temps up to 320*F and I've never had an issue..
Not sure if every one will understand this but I hope it will help some one..
