I hope this isn't a stupid question but how much torque does it take to tighten a shift lever? It's closed over the spline but there's play back and forth so not completely tight. I tried tightening with an box ended crescent but it wasn't pinching any further and worried it would crack. There's still a fairly big gap on the open end of the shifter. Any suggestions?
