Default Side mount license bracket for 06 bob

I did a search already but came up empty. I may well have missed the thread if this has been covered please forgive me

I read several discussionsabout flush mounted plates on the fender but I can't seem to find a bracket for the axle nut or swing-arm anywhere. Went to Sturgis last week and checked around with both JP and Kuryakyn and even browsed local vendor tents as well.

I had one from a Sporty and Igrounded the hole out big enough to fit, but the thing was pretty cheap and the weld broke off leaving me without a plate.

Besides building one (which I'm more that willing to do) has anyone found a bracket that fits?

Thanks,

well i was just about to post this..then i saw your thread and decided to put it here...
it's in regards to dreamweaver's prostreet customs side mount tag bracket/taillight...
1st i'd like to say i really like the product..."liked" is actually more accurate...my dilemma is that i bought one of these things...[model "A" vertical-radiused] and after about 300 miles or so, i discovered it dragging beside me by my nice wiring job...must've been a mile or so before i even noticed so it was ground down pretty bad!
anyway...called gary @ dreamweavers and he explained he'd out-sourced some brackets and was aware of the problem....also advised me he had NO RETURN/REFUND POLICY!!...in his words "custom parts dont have a warranty" and he offered to send me a replacement @ cost... cost? what the hell?
i told him "go ahead and send me one out" and he did...including a bill for $74.00
74 bucks huh? ok...before i pay for anything i decide i'm gonna "test ride" this one for a while to see how/if it holds up....lo and behold...312 miles later...bracket # 2 is cracking @ the weld!!!
clearly a poor design... no gusset..nothing to relieve stress off the weld!
hope he's not holding his breath waiting for my $74!!!
good news is... i ordered a really nice bracket from bare knuckle choppers http://www.bareknucklechoppers.com/taglights.html
check these guys out...their brackets are made from 1/4" plate [as opposed to 1/8" stuff from the "other guys"] and fully gusseted..!
i'll post pics of mine once i recieve and install it
good luck!

m.

Oh goody, I can tell someone else my ordeal with Dreamweavers also!!! DO NOT BUY FROM HIM!!! I actually had one of his "famous" side mount licenseplates and light, just as metal mike, and before metal mike. Let me tell you that the story mike just told you would be exactly what I would tell you happened to me, except that I was one of the early people to have this happen and he was willing to exchange it out for free and even re-imberse me for my re-up of my vehicle license that is somewhere along the highway, with the first bracket. Well I got another one, paid nothing for it, and never recieved a penny from him (Gary, ya, he is a very nice and pleasant lying, cheating ****). I put the second on, and same thing but I caught it before I was on the highway at 70 miles an hour like the first time, almost killing a buddy. So I take pics of it and send it to him with a long email about what I found and this time he said nothing except no refunds, nothing, so I told him he could just #$%^$#%#$^%#%%^##@$%%&$&*@$%!*&%#*!#%$ &*%#^*%#^$#%&%^*%$*(%$#$%@^%@^!#^%!#$^$#&a mp;$#^&$#^& and QW$%@#$%#@$^%#@. Well as of today, I have the second one with a buddy of mine who is going to weld it (since the orginal weld was done by a 12 year old with no skills) and gussets. ThenI will put it up for sale on ebay or here. Just makes me sick when someone has a great part, manufactors it with no respect for craftsmanship and then does not back it up fully. He told me the one I got from him the second time around, he personally welded up, so well I guess I now know how old he is, see referance made earlier. Just pisses me off. Sorry everyone for the rant here, just do not like someone taking advantage of others. Go with the other company that metal mike suggested.

I've gotta throw my 2 cents.....I cant believe gary would be like that....Ive had no problems with the side mount from dreamweavers......I still like it......as far as the original question, just about any axle mount will work..you might have to drill it out alittle bit, but no big deal.....I dont know why dealers wont list them to fit...thats what most are looking for..a direct fit....the side mount plates arent rocket science...just a hole..the axle slides thru and you put on a nut.....like I said, just about any axle mount will work..........LOLIFE...................
