Question Cable and wires for 2 in Riser

Good morning, I have a 2004 Superglide FXDI with stock handlebars on it. I want to add 2 inch risers but can not figure out if I will have to replace all of the cabling and wires going to the handlebars. I want to have everything I need to do this before starting. I hate getting into the middle of project to find I can not ride the bike before getting more parts. Thank you for your help and have a great day riding as the season winds down in the Northeast.

wow, these Rush slip-ons sound really mean.

Remove bar clamps.
Lift bars 2 inches.
See if cables and wires still reach.

when I added 2" risers to my 2011 fxdf, my clutch cable was snug but no issues, the throttle cables were good, but my brake line was tight.

I made a bracket out of thin sheet metal and unscrewed the brake line underneath the tree and made an extension bracket. Essentially moving the brake line assembly back and release some play into the line.

it appears you have plenty of spare throttle cables and I can see the brake line attachment to underneath the tree. so, the big question..... do you have enough clutch cable?

You may need to tweak the brake line a little and reroute your cables but everything should fit.

Thank you for the info. I will unbolt the bars and try to move them and check the lengths. I guess my question actually concerned the electrical wires going to the handgrips. It looks like the length is just long enough for the stock height, unless more wire is hidden out of sight. For much larger barheights do people have to make electrical adapters for the wiring? Just curious.

You could splice them, and I'm pretty sure there are extension kits available for sale that you simply plug and play.

You can also re-route them sometimes. I think once you start moving things around you'll find you have enough extra that you wont have to modify the wires or cables.
