Dyna Super Glide shock part number- 54512-90A

According to the info I have the Low Rider has a 29 degree steering head angle and an additional 1-1/2 degree angle in the trees.

The convertible might also have stiffer springs since it was designed to have a windshield and some type of bag system ? Just my guess .

IDK, the windshield is pretty big, but its not real heavy and the bags are nylon with aplastic backplate so I doubt there would be a significant weight difference with ot without all of that installed. 10-12 pounds maybe. Of course that doesnt include any extra weight for items carried inside the bags.

In Harley terms, FXD means Dyna.....the S means Sport. Dual front brakes, and longer suspension. Your bike has a 28 degree rake. It will sit higher, for more ground clearance. The 28 degree rake helps with handling. These bikes eat corners. Do some front suspension work....emulators, and maybe some progressive springs. Put some stock length....13 inch shocks on the back, and this bike will put a smile on your face on twisty roads. An added benefit is that it will outdo most any Touring bike on a twisty road......On a Dyna, small changes make a big difference. Enjoy!!!!!!

Measure your seat height, should be 27.5“ also measure from the front axle center to the top of the nut on the fork tubes, I believe that should be 30.5". If those are your measurements them it's stock.. Also 12 is the stock length of the rear shocks..

I'm thinking it's possible the FXDS Convertible was a predecessor to the later FXDX. The FXDX was built taller and had adjustable front and rear suspension. It's been said the FXDX was built taller to provide the ground clearance to be a canyon carver, albeit a heavy one.

Interesting theory, the Convertible does handle nicely.

The Convertible was the predecessor to the FXDX. They used alot of the parts from the Convertible, and the Triple Tree, and fork tubes were a bit different. The Tree was different to mount the T-Sport fairing, and the fork tubes were double adjustable, for compression and rebound. Pretty much the Ultimate Dyna.
