I had some work done to my bike and the guy who did the work claims the airhorn is installed correctly.... He also said he double checked the positive/ground connection and if it isn't powered it wouldn't be working at all (this is his words) His claim is that the actual horn is defective and the wiring/etc is correct....
The horn sounds like one of those party favors where you blow in it and it and it unrolls some paper and makesa sound....
The horn sounds the same with/without the air hose going to the compressor...
I had the same problem when I installed mine. Sounded like an elephant passing gas. The connections to the horn weren't seated properly. I pressed them in really hard and it solved the problem. When I get some time, I'm going to replace the connectors with better quality ones without all the rubber to screw up the connections. You can tell if the horn is working by connecting a battery directly to the terminals, but make sure you're wearing hearing protection.
Switch the wires at the bottom of the horn compressor......
Just swap the yellow and black wires to the opposing posts....
This did the trick! Thanks a lot! LOUD as hell!!
Do I HAVE to mount this air hose to it? It's loud without it and running this to under the seat is going to require me to remove the gas tank.... Let me know
I gotcha, but really no where to put it aside from following the orignal wiring that goes under the seat, which means I need to lift the tank....
I will do this next weekend hopefully....
How about if I cut the hose and just stick it behind the airhorn? Not bending it but that saves me from running it all the way back... What do you think?
