I just put a 15" Memphis Slim on my Wide Glide. I do get double vision from head buffeting but it is better than a 50 lb. Gorrila on my chest. Before I did it, I had trouble riding over 70mph. I was trying to hold on rather than enjoy the ride.
I too was concerned about how it would look. At most angles, when clean, it almost dissappears. For me, 15" Slim was a good compromise.
Not a perfect solution but it's more comfortable.

Like others here, I've had terrible luck trying to get various windshields to function somewhat acceptably on various dynas. Right now I am enjoying clean wind blast, without the shield. When and if I start hankering for a shield again, I may just buy an ultra classic and be done with it.

Purchased a Standard Height HD Quick Disconnect. Only adjustments are up and down, (only a few inches) no tilt.
I'm 5' 11" andtried highest to lowest settings, with highest being eye level, while lowest is at my chin height.
By no means an expert here, but it seemed the higher I went with the windshield, the more head shaking I noticed. Just the opposite of where my original thoughts were. Seems the buffeting is cause from the airflow from below.

This being said, at the lower setting, I am able to travel about 55 mph without head buffeting (65 mph gets a little shakey, forget 75 mph, head gets well blended), and while raising the windshield results in buffeting starting at lower speeds (45 mph), where as 65 mph is a well belnded head.

My non expert conclusion, the wind buffeting is coming from down under. I am open to any and all suggestions here too, as 55 mph on 65 mph limits isn't cutting it for the daily commute, but the shield has served its purpose deflecting objects away from me on the heavy city Hwy. traffic.

I've got the Harley small, detachable windshield on my Wide Glide and it causes a lot of buffeting when it's windy. My head doesn't get blasted around, the bike does and I hate it. When there is little to no wind outside, the windshield works fine though. Generally, I only run it in winter when the temps get into the 20's and 30's to keep the blast off my chest. In summer, I don't run the shield at all. I went on a 200 mile run last weekend and I can see how the shield would be good on a trip to cut down on fatigue. I'm 6'2" and my face (nose up?) is exposed to the wind with this shield. One bad thing I found out: you can't get the mounting grommets separately for this shield - you have to buy the entire mounting kit for $70. My grommets are trashed and I haven't had the shield on in a long time because I would hate to have it come off mid ride, but don't want to cough up the money for the friggin grommets...

I am 6'2 and have an 03 low rider. I bought the HD quick detachable windshield and it works great for me. Quick and easy and helps on thelong rides.

Hmmmmmmmmm, I have a SS HD Quick-Release windshield, I like it alot, besides being Quick Release it does the trick..............theres some wind buffeting.................but, nothing to really bother ya with, theres always going to be some wind....................its a freaking motorcycle ya know !! Height adjustment up and down is good, sometimes I slide mine all the way up, sometimes I move it down to peer just over edge of windshield easily, Im 6'2 and have no complaints about it.........well, maybe one, it isnt tinted !!! I have a small tool bag attached to the mid-handlebar area so that keeps some air away..........I wear sunglasses all the time and have no problems with the wind doing what wind does on your face when wearing glasses of any sort.............it I have my hat on at least I dont have to staple it to my head to keep it on or band it so tight to keep it on that I get that ' pinhead' look.................hahahahahaa !!!

I have a wind vest on my 06 WG. There is a up draft, but that is always present. You just dont feel it when your getting blasted in the chest and face... I dont care for the look of a windsheild, but hate long runs on the interstate. Wind vest works good. directs wind up over my helmet. fully adjustable.. I am 6 feet, and went with the16 inch vest. I look right over the top. if it rains, I can scrunch down a bit and look through it. Great quality as well. Your gonna get a little wind, but you are ona motorcycle....!!

I've got the QR moco shield on my '07 Lowrider. It produces enough buffeting that I've just removed it, unless riding at night. Then it's terrible. I wear prescription glasses, and the buffeting is so bad it blurs my vision. I'm going to try lowers with it, then maybe an aero vest. If those don't work, I'll cut the screen off an inch at a time until my head is in clean air. That won't protect from debris, but at least I won't be a bobble head any more!
