I tore into the primary side of my bike this weekend to change to a 30 tooth front pulley and add my chrome inner primary that has been lying around since August. The job went well with no problems, although time consuming. At 6:00 PM on Saturday night when the damn Harley shop closes, I had everything back together and pulled the drain plug out of my old inner primary to install it in the new one. The old plug is the standard 1/2-20 plug and is a little too small for the hole on the new one. The new one almost looks like pipe thread? The cover part number is Harley 60794-06B.
Does anyone know what drain plug I need to buy?
Thanks in advance!

I'll say up front, I don't know what drain plug that primary cover part # uses.... you say the hole is too big for the standard 1/2-20 drain plug.....
I am unfamiliar with any primary drain plug that is larger than the 1/2-20 standard drain plug...... I know of two smaller sized primary drain plugs dating back into the EVO years, but no OEM plugs bigger than the current 1/2-20 drain plugs
Was that primary cover you bought a used part? If so, maybe the drain plug was stripped and retapped...
I have heard of "oversized" drain plugs for use when the OEM plug is stripped, and new threads are tapped into the old drain plug holes...... I believe those are usually 9/16-18 ...
You may want to search for "oversized harley drain plugs" and see what you can figure out, or try a 9/16-18 oversized drain plug...
Good luck with your drian plug search

Thanks for the reply, I will order one this morning and give it a try.
My 04 Softail has a 1/4 -18 NPT -(National Pipe Tapered). However, don't think the cover is original since manual says it should be the MS fitting (washer face with a steep bevel for o-ring with the 1/2-20 NF straight.
