I am considering ordering an 08 Red Fat Bob.(if i can get over the big front tire) I was just wondering if anyone else is considering this. Right now i have an XL50 and im thinking of putting a custom paint set (red flames) or just ordering a new bike...It would cost me 2000 for the paint set, plus another 500 for forward controls...so i dont know what to do...sorry for the rambling....thanks...

I don't understand this post?????
NO - absolutely no one is considering bying a fat bob - you're the first one. So - since no one else is considering it - then maybe you shouldn't either???
How can someone on this forum tell you what to do????

I don't get the part about getting over the big front tire...the fatbob is just another dyna but with a fat front tire. It seems that the fat front would be the main reason to buy the fatbob. if you don't like the front end you're probably going to behappier with a superglide, bob, lowrider or wg...none of which has the big front tire.

I don't have to tell you to ignore all the caustic comments on this thread so far. Some just feel the need to post a comment on nearly every thread, whether they actually have something to add to the topic or not.
That said, I'm looking forward to seeing and riding a Fat Bob. My dealer will have one in next week. I like the idea of the fat tires. Logic says they should make for a smoother ride. The thing I'm wondering about is how much additional heat is going to come out of those slots on the heat shield for the rear cylinder? As I have no intention of changing out anything (exhaust, intake, etc.) on my next bike, this could be a deal killer.
Have the motorcycle mags written anything about the bike? What did they say about it? The front tire should make a difference in the ride. I just hate the headlight, but that is easily chaged. Do what is right for you.
I like the fat front tire.....However I do not like the tread pattern on the front wheel.......It makes it look like a suzuki......dual headlights very kool...dual front brakes very kool.....overall look of the bike I do like....but thier would have to be some significant changes done to it.....for me to ride it............LOLIFE..........................
i think it looks great and certinly would not discourage any one from purchasing one, especially a red one.
i think its a great platform to make something really diff. and cool
