Default fat bob wheels

Anyone thinking of the fat bob rear wheel " 16 x 5in." to replace a stocker on a fxd or street bob? I would like to go wider on my 06 superglide but dont get the ratios and such.I also am not savvy on axles , if they are compatible. Is a 180-16 wider or not than a 180-17? It would seem to offer more tireoptions alsoas Harley 17 x 4.5" wheels are a rare bird. Would probably also chub up the front also. Thanks for any thoughts on the subject.

This site does not have even tire sizes but you can get the jiss of it by using 185 instead. http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp

here is a better calc http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html

And to answer your quesiton a 180 is a 180 no matter the rim size. The 180 stands fo the cross section width. The second number reprents the side wall as a percentage of the cross section.

Dang it this forum does not like tables......

Dimension
Tire A: 180/70 R 17
(27 x 7.09 x 17)
Width 7.09" (180.00mm)
Sidewall height 4.96" (126.00mm)

Overall height 26.92" (683.80mm)
Circumference 84.58" (2148.22mm)

Tire B: 180/70 R 16
(26 x 7.09 x 16)
Width 7.09" (180.00mm)
Sidewall height 4.96" (126.00mm)
Overall height 25.92" (658.40mm)
Circumference 81.43"(2068.42mm)

Difference
+0.00"(+0.00mm)
+0.00"(+0.00mm)
-1.00"(-25.40mm)
-3.14"(-79.80mm)
