I’m looking to purchase a 2002 wide glide. The problem is I’m 5 foot 7 and it’s got 3” extensions. I’m just wondering what years and other dyna models share the same forward controls?
I have a 08 Fatbob with forward controls and I'm 5'9. I bought Harleys reduced reach kit Reduced Reach Forward Control Conversion Kit | Harley-Davidson USA and it moves the controls back by an 1". I absolutely love them! It made a world of difference for me and super easy to install.
You should go on the HD website OEM Parts Finder page to be sure, but I think all the way back to 1994 Wide Glide up past your year should work, until they changed the frame.
The extensions are usually just plates that move stock peg mounts forward. If you remove the plate, everything else works except you will need a shorter/stock shifter rod and brake rod. Both should be easy enough to find on the Bay with the correct part #'s, good luck.
