You need to replace both trap door bearings at the very least.

The gearshafts will come out attached to the trapdoor.

Remember, untorque the bearing nuts on the trapdoor before removing the gearset, it is much easier that way.

If it was indeed the water in the tranny that killed the trap door bearing, you probably have to replace the main drive gear bearing.. Inspect while you take things apart.

If it were my transmission that was waterlogged, I would replace all the bearings...

All done
So I know I probably SHOULD have taken the transmission main shafts out and tested and inspected everything, but I didn't. I got a slick puller for the side door on ebay and it worked like a charm. Knocked the bearings out and replaced them and pressed the side door back on. I didn't even need to remove any primary pieces, just the exhaust. Flushed the trans a few times and it's quiet and smooth again. Man, this motor is a gem.
Now, onto the dumpster fire that is the electrical system...

Well I'm finally getting around to the brake light not working and I need some help. This bike has an aftermarket brake light assembly and it only has 2 wires going to it. Under the fender I found 3 (presumably for the stock tailight) and the orange and yellow wire is capped off. In my manual I believe I found that wire to be for the front brake switch. Any ideas?
