Left Harley
Ok, what is the name of this forum? "HD" Forums. You start a thread and everyone who has ever known someone that owned a KTM has to chime in. Glad you enjoyed your time here and if you wanted to continue to talk about Harleys great. I for one could care less about your new bike that is not a Harley.
Not trying to be a smart ***, but then why even open the thread.... let alone post on it?
I see numerous thread titles on this forum about mods, styles, or questions I could care less about.... I just don't open the threads and move on to the ones that interest me...
No right, no wrong, certainly no need for an apology.... Just a suggestion to help you keep your blood pressure down...
I know it helped with mine...
This is because of the nature of the members of these forums that they wind the thread so that many times the most un-noteworthy thread contains a trove of technical information that, to me, is absolutely enlightening.
Of course, I have to wade through a lot of dross to get to the gems, but very many times it is worth it.
When I started out, there were Harleys, Indians and an occasional British bike. I soon found out that the Harley riders hated the Indian riders. The Indian riders hated the Harley riders and they both hated the British bike owners. Likewise the British bike owners hated Indians and Harleys. Later the Japanese machines came over and the mutual hatred continued, although by that time the Indians began to fade out.
The one thing I never did was to tell very many people what I rode. That's the issue. I say ride what you want, but if it's not a Harley maybe you shouldn't advertise that you have bought a foreign machine and tell others about it, especially on a Harley site.
Anyway, I always felt better on a Harley and now when I ride the FX Dyna Wideglide, I'm fifteen years old again.
By the way, this is a great site and I'm glad that I found it and can contribute now and then.

OP was cool enough to give a heads up that he has moved on to a new adventure after 12 years and over 2000 posts on this forum. No value judgment. No personal attack on anyone's self perception. Why the insecure BS?
Life is about variety and experience. If everyone liked the same thing, how ****ing boring would our bikes be? Kinda like the car industry today where every car is indistinguishable from the next and pretty much every one views them as appliances.
Regardless, what initially drew OP to Harley will probably draw him back in some capacity; a Harley is a Harley. There is no point in explaining that statement; we all get that right? I qualify this by pointing out that my definition of a "Harley" stops with end of production of the Twin Cam. If you disagree, I really don't care what you think--and you shouldn't care what what I think either. That is the point of a free society that is supposed to value free speech, individual thought and expression, and freedom of association.
OP, I will not be surprised to see you come back, but whether you do or do not, good luck and ride safe.

In this woke confused world men in general lost all code. Everyman who bungies beenie babies to the back of his motor sickle should be locked into a room and forced to watch Clint Eastwood and John Wayne movies until they start to have a sense of right of passage. There was a time when men were men and mothers were tougher. Whiskey for all!
