I think the console on my '06 FXDCI is Plastic. Also, in the '06 Cataloge they sell a replacement that I can have painted to match my bike and it claims to be made out of ABS (plastic)

it is on every one I've seen - if it's not on yours, then the dealer did a switcheroo before you got it.

S#it, so we are not clear about this yet... Hope someone comes with some evidence (either way); if it is plastic I will swallow my words, just hope I'm right. My Console weighs a lot, clock included and tried to scrape it on the inner side but it was too hard. It also feels like an alloy since it is cold as any other metal when you touch it and your fingers leave condensation on the chromed surface....

correct - but hakron states he has a 2006. the console changed with the 2007 model - speedo moved, etc.

I just looked in the '07 and the '08 accessories and parts cataloge and I didn't see it listed in either one, so maybe it came in a suplement or maybe I'm thinking of something else...I did knock on mine and it sounded plastic though if that helps.

also, here's a picture of one from eBay
to me, the white inside would indicate plastic. Keeping in mind, that this console is ONLY used on 2 modles of Dyna, the FXD Super Glide, and the FXDC Superglide Custom. And only up to '06 on the Custom.
