Dyna questions
The wg with it's wider rake is a little harder to turn than the bikes with less rake. Other than that, I don't think there's a whole lot of difference between the Dynas. You can pretty much make any of them look how you want. e.g apes on a Bob, lower a wg, etc etc.
My next project is to take off the bobtail fender on the back and put on a wraparound kinda like the Bob has, and add a solo seat with a removeable pillion. (I've added a few bits of chrome since the sig pic was done.. Guess I need to see if I can get a new one made.)

Here is a pic of one of the ladies I ride with. ( It's our new years day ride, not her everyday gear ) She is in the 5'5" range and does just fine on this big boy. Where there is a will, there is a way... Of coarse, she has a lot of riding experience...
The Wide Glide is a great machine for the experienced rider. It was said above a few times about the wide forks and raked front that make it a little more difficult to handle at slow speeds. Tends to "fall off" sooner then "fall off" quicker than the other dynas. Another minor point, but you should consider everything, is that the WG comes with spoke wheels. That means a tubed tire. Tubed tires have more of a tendancy to blow out than a tubeless tire which have more of a tendancy to leak out when punctured. It may be only slightly more of a tendancy, but it certainly is there. Keeping 650 lbs of ride straight with a front tire blow out takes some finess and muscle. The dynas also have rubber mounted engines which reduce the buzz you feel at speed. My previous 1991 Softail buzzed so much on the highway, the mirrors were useless. My 07 WG smooths out at speed.
It appears she likes the look. I have to agree. However, a few of the Sportsters look similar to the WG. lighter bike, much less expensive, and easier to ride. You might want to check on those.

The WG is the best looking of the Dynas. Of course I may be biased. I hadn't riden for about 27 years and bought an 07 WG last May. I had ridden mostly dirt bikes and 750 Hondas back in the day.The WGhad a way different feel to it. At first itfelt heavy at slow speeds butI soongot used to it. Now it feels very natural. Whatever she gets, she should practiceslow speed turns somewhere safe like an empty parking lot.

Get her what she wants.....If she wnts a WG then get her one. Anything else, and she will regret.

If she is 5'11" and she drools over a Wide Glide why would you sugggest for her to git anything else. She will always wish she had gotten a wide glide. When I went to the H-D dealerI bought a street bob, tryingto save money. When I went to the store I wanted the wide glide, keep the street bob for 5000 miles, took it back and traded it in on a Wide Glide, best decesion I ever made. Now I'm happy cause I got what I wanted. My wife agreed with me too.
Who cares if the bike comes with spokes and has tubes. Mine does too. I've hammered my bike on the straight aways and nailed the curves and have over 10,000 miles on it, haven't had a problem with spokes. How many bikes have you known that had a blow out recently.
Go to a bike meet. Bet you more bikes will have spokes than aluminum or forged wheels.
If this is a big problem with spokesyou can have it changed for a upgrade at the dealer if she deceided to do it before she had the bike built.
And the wind don't blow it around as much as some of the other bikes.
Once you ride it for a while you learn how to use the throttle when yer slow to handle the weight of the front end and don't pay the front end any attention.
The front end on the wide glide is what set's it off from the rest of the bikes too.
