My buddy picked up a 1998 FXDWG. Beautiful bike in really good condition but it’s really really uncomfortable. Both of us are about 6’4”, I put two inch extensions on it but the seat… right now it’s a lepera Cobra with gel inserts and even 20 minutes of riding and your junk is numb. He needs to find a seat that doesn’t push him forward… like at all. It needs to have more padding directly under neath. Problem is all the seats go really old man wide if they have more padding. Isn’t there a taller (thicker) made seat that doesn’t just go ridiculously wide? He’s about to sell it over this.

Lepera seats are the most uncomfortable , but the look cool . so just about any seat would be more comfortable .
Check out after market stores or a rally and that way you could compare .
Seats are very subjective... Opinions on seats can help narrow down the choices, but one man's heaven is another man's hell....
You are wise to state your height. That can greatly affect the "feel" of a seat..... but eventually, you'll need to try one to be sure if you will like it.
Hopefully the 6'3" & up crowd will chime in with what has worked for them.
To illustrate my point, I'm only 5'8" tall. I have a LePera RT66 for my touring bike, and a LePera Regal Plush 2-Up Seat for a softail. I bought them both for their looks, and while I found them firm, I am pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they are for me...
Your buddy needs to ask to sit on similar bikes, in order to feel the difference in seat styles. Bike nights, and Dealerships with a good variety of used bikes is a good place to ask "can I sit on the bike to see how the seat feels"?
The thing is, everyone has a different size butt, weight, and height, so a bucket to fit your butt may not be the best looking seat. The most comfortable seats are also the ugliest.
I run the Corbin Gunslinger on my 1997, I also have the two up version for when I have my wife with me. At 6' tall with 34" inseam, I am very comfortable. Corbin seats do take some time to break in, but after that, all good. I had 2" extensions on my forward controls, I find them uncomfortable, took them back off and I have been much happier. Extensions are still on the bike in this picture, on my buddies bike in NH now. But he is 6'-5" and really needed the room to stretch out.
Drag Specialties has some good seats, I've bought two (for a Sportster) and am happy with them, especially the extended reach model, it move the rider up and back and makes my bike a much better fit for me.
