Yesterday(Sun.) I turned my 07' Street Bob on everything was great. Then I noticed while I wasriding that the check engine light was on. I just recently had PC III, V&H Short shots, and Big Sucker put on the bike. I pulled over let it cool down and then started it again. No check engine light, rode about a mile without going high RPM, when I finally got on it a little the check engine light came back on???? Any suggestions?? I washed the bike Friday got the air cleaner a little wet, but not saturated. Bike sounds ok nothing out of the ordinary..Please reply
Im havig the same problem, however i didnt wash my bike installed and rode and then there it was that ugly little yellow light. Did you figure out what was wrong i checked and i have no codes stored but just like you i turn it off and it goes away until i hit like 40. Please let me know
Check that the 2 cables running from the spark plugs are fully seated (make sure you check both ends of the cables)
It's a well known fact that these vibrate loose.
If either is not seated properly i.e. you don't feel it "click" into place when pushed home, the check engine light will come on under load.
I had the very same problem and it was fixed in 2 seconds
i have an 2006 sportster and am having the same problem check engine light comes on sometimes a minute after its started or then after youve been riding for ten minutes or more also the speedometer stopped working any ideas what to check i dont belive i have any codes to check being its a carb engine and didnt see anything in owner manual that helped me.any advise would be helpful
