Just got back from a ride that had a few stops on it and I cant get to the dealer until Tues but I have a question. The engine light came on as I was riding down the road and stayed on for like 30 seconds and then went off. Stop at a local watering hole and when I got on the bike again and was rising the light stayed off. Stopped at another local place and on the way home the engine light came on again for roughly 30 seconds as I was riding down the road. Any ideas? 06 Street Glide fuel injected. Thanks
My engine light comes on when I get on the throttle hard. Seems to only happen after engine is warm, and light goes off after I return to normal driving. Have had dealer check it, says everything is ok. It did this most of last season, I have learned to ignore it as bike runs and performs as normal. This is on a 07 ultra
The engine light is there to tell you of some trouble which may be present, or historic. Meaning, that some problem has occurred recently, but may not be a continuous problem at this time. A present code should result in the engine light blinking about 8 times after a brief pause once the engine has been started. Historic codes may be indicated by the engine light for 50 on/off cycles of the ignition switch.
Check codes as stated above. Ignoring this warning may lead to further, or possibly more costly problems.
