Old (er) man's philosophy
Well I can appreciate your taste in bikes. I put over 100K on my old WG and I still miss it. At 71 I intend to ride as long as my old body will let me. My wife is 67 and she is still up for long trips. She did a 750 mi. day with me 2 years ago headed for Sturgis. I bought her a heated seat for the Road Glide a couple months ago so she is happy as a clam. I still love Dyna's and have a 09 that I love tinkering with. For me Harleys have been such a big part of my life that I feel blessed to have enjoyed the open roads and great people I have met along the way. No regrets from this geezer!
Said the father advising his son, who grew up to be a wealthy drug lord who enjoyed his life path, thanks to dad.
Of course it's the EXACT same thing if your motorcycling habits involve being a drug load.
Who cares what anybody thinks!
Fact is, other than minor aches n pains, and several pounds heavier, I don't feel much different than 31, or even 21 ( in my mind). Wiser, a little more cautious perhaps.
The wife and I have a 2019 Tri Glide for 2 up travel.
My personal ride is a 1995 Dyna Convertible.
It's a stock engine except for pipes n carb tune.
I ditched the buck horns for for something more comfortable, lowered the rear with Progressive shocks about 1 1/2", LePera Bare Bones solo seat . Just things to help the scooter fit me physically.
Yea, it's not something I can ride 500 miles a day. But 150 ain't out of the question.
Not a rough ride, but not a road sofa like the Tri Glide .
Never much cared for what others thought about what I ride.
Started out on a 1981 Yamadawg 650 Special.
Wish I still had it.
I hope I still have at least a few more good years for two wheeled adventures.
You keep doing you. And I'll keep doing me.
I'll wave when we pass one another.🤜🤛👍
