This might be a better place to ask - SERT Question
I posted this in the EFI/Lighting/etc/ tech forum but I thought maybe I could get some more info here,
I'm looking for a SERT map for my 2006 FXDCI with
TC88
8* injectors
SE Air Cleaner
V&H Big Shot Saggered
The bike runs kind of rough when it's not warmed up and it idles pretty high when it's cold also...also I don't really feel any more power with the new pipes and A/C like I thought I should...I mean I know I didn't make drastic changes to the bike, but I was sure I should feel some noticable improvement over stock.
I had the dealer install the pipes and A/C and then dyno tune it with the SERT, but now I realize that was a waste of money....anyway, I used the SERT to read back the map name that was installed into the ECM which was 141NX002-356. So it looks like my dealer used a modified 141NX002 map which from what I could tell from the SERT documentation was the right starting point.
From what I've heard, it can be a real pain to get the dealer to give you a copy of the map file they've used so that you can tweek it a bit...I would love to see where I'm at now and do some adjustments without having to scrap everything that I paid them to do when they dynoed it. I'm sure that there is probably one guy there that creates the maps and then these guys just throw it on the dyno (or not) and if it doesn't run like total **** they call it done.
I just picked up the cables for the SERT last friday and installed the software Saturday, so I don't have much experience. I'm going to do some data runs tonight when I get home, but I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. Also, since I rode to work today the bike is going to be warm when I do the data runs, so I'm not going to see what it's doing when the engine is at the colder temps...and since I don't have a copy of the map I'm running, I can't really do any incremental changes....
Boy if I had it to do all over again I would have installed the pipes, the AC, and the base 141NX002 map myself, then taken it to a reputable tuner who would dyno it then give me a copy of the map. I could have saved $800.00.

Most dyno tuners don't really know what to do with the sert map. Its real big. They just play with it. We got a dude here I tried to git my bike in for over 2 months and wound up taking it somewhere else and paid for 3 1/2 hour of dyno tuning time. My bike didn't do like I wanted it to do either.
I made some new changes and it was dyno time again.
I broke downa and got me a Thundermax with A/T. Ordered it with the map in it for the way my bike is set up. It takes a little work but its well worth it. You can contact Pete at www.thunder-max.com and ask him if there's anybody in yer area that installs them.
The oxygen sensors are closed loop and they can adjust to a larger set of parameters. To me its the best way to do.
My sert and cable and factory ecm is in the drawer in a box.
You don't list where you are either.
RE: This might be a better place to ask - SERT Question
In the little po dunk town that I live in there's one dyno within 100 miles and one guy that tunes with a SERT on a dyno.Fortunately he's good, he spent half a day and God knows how many runs tuning my bike. He couldn't get his exhaust gas analyzer to work with my Thunderheader at anything below about 3500 RPMs so he did it by trial and error adding fuel until it quit making power and setting each cell at peak power. In the end my TC88 with nothing more than a Thunderheader,Screaming Eagle AC and the aforementioned SERT was making 80hp and 92lbs of torque.
