2009 Dyna super glide custom FXDC - help!
any suggestion is much appreciated
You should be a pretty good do it yourself person if you buy it.
These bikes have roller bearings and are noisy compared to a sleeve bearing car motor.
It takes someone with a little Harley background to know the difference between OK and bad noises.
Unless your that person , pay someone to inspect it. It will be money well spent.
PS. as a new person here, let me also say ..
Welcome for sure Chris.
Hope you continue to enjoy your ride here with us on the HDFORUM.
Only as a suggestion, create a signature line similar to mine with your year, model, and all the letters Harley assigned to your bike when you get it. It will appear at bottom of your post.
You can also add a favorite picture to the signature line.
You can also add a favorite picture for an Aviator postage stamp you see at the top left of your post.
When you get the chance, use the drop down menu and make your next new post over in the new member welcome area to say hello.

Within the first 10,000 miles, the rotor and stator literally blew up onside the chaincase housing. It took forever to get the zillions of tiny magnetic pieces off anything non-aluminum they were sticking to! I went through that *twice*, using stock parts.
Went through 4 or 5 sets of wheel bearings, using a different maker each time hoping theirs would work and last longer.
The right handlebar brake mechanism, the little switch inside the handlebar thing there, died twice on me and I had to replace...not 'hard' to do, per se, just a PITA.
The front engine mount is in a shitty place and when you change out your oil, it gets oil all over it and thus rots the rubber mount and you need to change it a few times over the years.
Friggin' key fob died one day and I was unable to do anything with the bike - my only transportation. I can't remember the PITA crap I had to go through to be in control of my bike once again, but I may have come here asking for advice/help.
There may or may not have been a thing or three more I hated about it, but all I know is that once the motor blew up on me coming over a rise on the way home and I had to coast into an empty parking lot and get a friend to come with a trailer so I could sell the PoS for $1500 and go back to carb'd bikes, was the best day of my life. Newer bikes may be better, I haven't got a clue and I'm not going to find out...I'll let others with that kind of money do that kind of thing, heh.
