ISO with the throttle boss. Great comfort and my hands don't go numb on long trips. I ride in half finger gloves too so not problem with my hands getting black. Worth the money for them.
check out the SAC website. lots of variety andI love these grips!
they are a bit on the large size, but super comfortable.I never have any sort of comfort issue at all.
one warning, because they are so thick, you can't wear thick gloves with them.
Ilove these grips!
By far, the Nostalgic grips rule. The palm swell hooks up nice in hand, and they're affordable. Interesting how the chrome piece resembles the handlebar, making it appear that the switches are mounted inboard a bit.
Then there's the portable elastic Throttle Boss, a welcome accessory that almost looks out of place. Not a problem - presto! I make it disappear. Later, I reinstall it 'low' because it can be raised on the fly. I mustn'tgo too high though, or I might have to pull off the road to lower it.
All the same, with or without the Throttle Boss and as if operating a rigid frame, I often wrap my thumb around the grip's chrome portion and maintain throttle position by anchoring my index finger to the adjoining stationary unit, in this case, the top of the switch housing. (Just as well: those are 12.0 inch shocks for a '69 FL, and they're set at maximum pre-load... My *** can readthe year of a penny in the street!)
Finally, I use Goop/Gojo to clean the grips. Always the stuff WITHOUT pumice! Works on my steering wheels, walk-behind lawnmower, some tools, wherever hand-schmoo accumulates.
I have the V-Twin rail style grips right now and they are much better than stock but once those are worn out I am going to switch toa gel grip by ProGrip, I've had their gel grips on my atv's and crotch rockets and loved them. they make the longer rides much more comfortable. here is the link below.
i gotta go with the nostalgic grips. They're comfy and it doesn't matter if you've got sweaty hands, sunscreen lotion orwater from riding in the rainon your hands they're never slippery.
I got a dumb ? and its a little off topic but getting ready to change out the bars is there anyway to get the ISO grips off without destroying them or just go ahead and buy another set.
