I like the Harley Alerion (?)grips for several reasons. They have rubber which gives a good grip and helps with vibration. They are oval shaped which fits your hand better, nobody makes a perferct circle when they close their hands. Plus they still have some chrome for show on the end andthe strip across the front, and a small "pad" for the thumb.
I hate wearing gloves. I hate hot crome grips. Chrome knurled grips like those that came on my FXDSE are slipperyin rain and not comfortable in heat, or long rides. This is my4th bike I have put the Alerion grips on. I think they are about $65.
I got a dumb ? and its a little off topic but getting ready to change out the bars is there anyway to get the ISO grips off without destroying them or just go ahead and buy another set.
I read somewhere that you can loosen the glue on the left grip by squirting GUNK carburator cleaner inside the grip where it attaches to the bars. Keep working it and it will come off.
