Default Head Hoggers

So, their 4" drop in ring compressor for the Twin-Cam has been "sold out" since last year sometime. I contacted them back in January/February and they emailed and asked a couple of questions to clarify what I needed and told me it'd be a couple of weeks. I've been checking back on their website at the intervals they told me, couple weeks. Nope. Contacted again, materials coming soon. Nothing. It'll be this week. Still nothing. They're at engraving now. Surprise, still nothing on the website. Now the woman who has been replying to me is flat out ghosting me. I don't get it man, I'm trying to frigging give them 95 of my hard-earned dollars and this is the best they can do?

The point of this post is to bitch because WTF, right? And second to see if you guys have experienced the same.

Head Hoggers Tapered Ring Compressor Twin Cam 4.000 Bore (Drop In) – HEAD HOGGERS (head-hoggers-1312.myshopify.com)

EDIT: I'm going to add that the world just is frigging upside-down man. There's a pretty well-known Harley aftermarket parts guy that is always on Insta talking **** about people and threatening to "cancel your order" if you dare contact him for an update. I mean I get it, he's better off making parts than answering emails but since when did this crap of the customer being beholden to the retailer become acceptable? You make cool ****, run a good business, keep your nose clean and if you're lucky you'll get customers who give you money. Not in 21st century America, I guess.

I don't agree with the behavior, but I get it. As a small business owner I can tell you folk have become super impatient, demanding, and bitchy about paying for work and parts. 'i can get it cheaper' is a common refrain, followed by then complaining about their supplied parts being crap and causing further problems. I've held my labor at pre-covid pricing though I should be at $135/hr.

Been blessed to run my own company for twenty years.....but I took a day job to make money. 35+ years in my industry and I'm about done.

With the amount if time you been discussing this, you could have had the cylinder on with fingernails and a small screwdriver..

No cylinder to install yet, its my project for the coming winter so I'm picking up tools for the shop now. I'm hoping to be doing more of this kind of work in the future, but right now I have plenty of time.

If you plan to do more of this type of work, buy tools that are flexible in their application to different motors. I bought a KD Tools #850 when I was 20, so I've been using it for 45 years. Still works like a new tool.
