I use cheap oil.

Start it up, let lifters pump up. That is a scary sound if they don't right away.. Let it run 30 seconds ish. Let it cool, do it again longer, do this a few times. Maybe some gentle revs.

First time I did it my own garage. Last couple I did it in my budies shop with huge fan running. Interesting to note, the bikes really don't get warm. You can sit at a stop light for a minute or so, with a hot bike. A cold bike can run a minute, and still be cold.

First time i ever did it changed it at 50 miles and 500, last two times, just changed at 500 miles. Then take it easy for first 50 miles, gentle roll ons. 50 miles mark give it a goose.

And this is a hottly debated debate, longer than I have been alive. Many people just pound them right away. Those are also the people that generally pound their stuff anyways. I don't know which works better,

Make sure and oil the cylinders, assembly lube, and oil everything.

How are you getting from 103" to 110? 103 is already a bored and stroked 88.

Rather than letting the lifters pump up get it on the jack stand and put it in gear, give the rear wheel several good turns, this will prime your lifters and all of your oil passage ways so you don't have an initial dry start.

I soke them, and last time saw oil coming out the filter mount from setting up adjustable rods. I think they still banged a little. Another way is take the plugs out and turn engine over. Some people will take fuse out of fuel pump too.

I dump some oil in the bottom end too.

I didn't mean cylinders. I just use engine oil for that. But I suspect that is not all he will have apart
