I shared some pictures of my 1996 Dyna Convertible a couple of months ago. I have found a place to have some bags made for it out in California. It is a place called LeatherWorks. I am going to order them in September. What I am looking for now is a 2 up seat, back rest and luggage rack for it. Are there any suggestions on where to find these parts outside of a dealership? I am going to be doing some different things to this bike like a paint job and so forth. This will be my late Fall, Winter project in my shop. I always hear the phrase to make it my own and I am going to do this to this bike. I love the way it rides, the way it sounds, and it is a completely different ride than my 2018 Heritage. Any ideas or thoughts to find the above parts would be appreciated very much and I want to thank you in advance. I am a motorcycle instructor in the state of Pa and this Summer has been busy. Hence the reason for not posting on a regular basis. Thanks again in advance.
'96 Convertible came with a detachable windshield, highway bars, a sissybar/pad combo. I doubt there's a factory seat pan in any dealership. (There wasn't for a '95 FXD and they use the same seat.)
Congrats on having the best all 'round motorcycle HD ever built.
Corbin should have a seat that will work for you. Just make sure that you discuss the thickness with them prior to ordering. I got one of their seats and even though I told them I was 6'3, they still sent me a very thin seat that made the seat hight much lower than I needed and the seat itself much less comfortable than I was hoping for. They agreed add up to 3/4 of an inch foam for free but with round trip shipping it would be almost as expensive as ordering yet another seat. And frankly I think the seat was at least an inch, maybe an inch and a half, too low. That said, the Corbin seat was very well made and will likely last a long time once I get someone local to re-cover it to add an appropriate amount of foam
